Something Borrowed

When women compliment other women's wedding dresses, do they genuinely mean it? I mean, do they genuinely find tacky white dresses that constrict breasts and hide women's thighs appealing?

Or is it just another thing women lie about?

I'd really like to know.

if you are talking about what i think you are talking about...i thought the dress was actually really pretty:)
i tend not to compliment on the dress per se if i dont like it....just on the wedding perhaps....

  2. Lol. No, I wasn't referring to anyone or any dress in particular. But yes, that is what sparked this general thought. That, and the fact that I pass by an upscale wedding dress store every day, and I think the dresses are hideous.

  3. Sure, most wedding dresses (and most weddings now that I think of it) are as tacky as the "Chicken Dance" and the "Electric Slide" (It's electric -- boogy oogy oogy), but I've seen plenty that were just exactly perfect. The dress, much like everything else in a wedding, is at the sole discretion of the lovely couple.

"FUGGEVERYBODY! If I want to dress my dog in a tuxedo and have him in the groomsman line while a bluegrass band plays a rippin' version of 'How Great Tou Art', then I'm gonna dress my dog in a tuxedo and have him in the groomsman line while a bluegrass band plays a rippin' version of 'How Great Thou Art'!

  4. I the truth is women lie about loving a wedding dress. I have noticed that when a girl gets engaged she kind of falls down the rabbit hole of wedding planning - and the dress is part of that. so I guess she loves whatever she chose to wear on 'her day' and as a guest or viewer of wedding pictures - you have to compliment her, because saying 'wow you really went nuts on this whole wedding thing - look at you in that white pouffy thing' somehow would be cruel....
