Literacy Not Required

There are lots of new pictures on the Travel Blog. (Very little reading required.)

And on that note, Stacey, who I organized the Wan Bigfella Fundraiser with, left for Australia today. She will arrive on Thursday, and I expect she is headed to Vanuatu on Sunday. Why am I sharing all this?

Because she's agreed to buy and send me wan bigfella package of dried kava!

Mi happi tumas!

(And, I have to admit, it was the first time and probably last time in my life that I felt like I was arranging some sort of illicit drug deal. I kind of liked it.)

  1. Aw, c'mon -- don't sell yourself short. You're young. There's still plenty of time to broker illicit deals!

I bought some kava off of ebay a few years ago. When it showed up, it had dozens of customs stamps and inspections stickers all over it. I opened it and it was, quite literally, a huge bag of suspicious brown powder! I can only imagine the look on the customs agent when they opened that package!

The coca tea from Bolivia (also bought from ebay) was handled in much the same way! I'm sure there's a file somewhere in Washington dedicated just to me!

If you don't have a file on record in Ottawa, you will now! Welcome to the dark side! (har har har)
